So a decently long post on Orientation 2011. Mass dance song: Dynamite by Taio Cruz.Day 1.
The opening&discipline and level talks were boring. And we ended early. Which made it worse...
Mr Cheong as lvl head. Heard he's nice, but I kinda want Mr Toh back... :/
Hahaha I pity the Yr1s. Guess who's their lvl head. LOL. Class mentoring was boring too;
Wanted to play, but in the end the 17 monkeys couldnt decide. Ms Lim as co-mentor;
Till Ms Ng comes back. Maybe I should start calling her Mrs Tan. Sigh. Why Ms Lim. She's nice;
But I've a feeling most of us would rather Ms Sie (like last yr!) or at least Mr Toh.
Lunch, was not provided. Darn. While the yr1s and yr3s were happily eating free food;
The rest of us couldnt. Had 3 bars of Kinder Bueno. Somehow. Mass dance is better than last yr.
Danced with Cari. (again) Somehow the plan was all the yr2s and yr4s in the hall, all houses.
Which means I could see Madhu dancing clearly since she was in a purple jacket XD
House meeting, then activity, yr2s to design the Float (aka a decorated trolley).
My team: Nicole, Luther, Delvin, Jaryl, Wei Heng, me and some other dude I dont know.
Lut and Jaryl were bent on missiles. In a while we settled on a shoe design, inspired by Nike Air.
Later this was one of the 3 designs chosen for the Float. Boo yeah.
Day 2
Station games, play with class. Cant rmb the exact details but here's the rough outline:
1. Game must tie leg w one another and cross the room blindfolded. PY & Shu Hui in charge.
2. Teamate put hand in box, feel object then describe. My team is MJ go. Pretty funny.
He pulled out an obj and ask if counted, also mixed up the objs and confused the SM.
3. Ok there are more games but my head aches from rmb-ing.
House activity were suppose to start building, but procrastinate until didnt. Damnit.
I lay out newspaper so nicely on the floor for spray painting then in the end didnt use. Bleh.
Got transported to the Rocket Building team. Headed by Lut and Hansel.
Mass dance after. Feel kinda bad for dancing with Cari. Cuz I know someone else wants to...
But I've no one else to dance with so too bad. Oh was behind Hansel, Lut and Shaun.
Hansel and I tied Shaun's shoelaces tgt. Like super a lot of knots. Poor guy was hopping the dance...
Later he got tired and sat in a corner. Give him credit, he didnt even fall once.
Day 3
Which was well, ytd, but its foggy already. House games, which was Dodge Ball then Stations.
I played in the 1st round, and was sacrifised to get a ball for my team. Darn. Oh well.
In the end we won Fleming by 1 point :D Station games were... interesting. Tiring too.
The guys were corrupting the yr1s, who were just as corrupted. Monkeys in the making.
Bridge crossing, charades ("1 hat of nth, 2 hats for something" "Throw the hat after 30 sec!")
LOL. I didnt really participate but it was pretty good. The others seemed to have fun.
Lunch, mass dance session the campfire prep. YAY ROCKET BUILDING TEAM. PWN.
We finished the rocket shorter than the Shoe and Wing teams, and we're the nicest HAHA.
I cut the cardboard and wrapped it w shiny purple paper okkk. -accomplished-
With Hansel's knife of some sort. My hand almost died. The cardboard was well, pretty hard.
The guys did wrapped another piece of cut cardboard w green shiny paper, which...
Didnt look as nice as mine (haha!) But the rocket still rocks and no one's gonna notice LOL.
Duct taping the rocket parts tgt was hard. But we came to a logical conclusion;
That duct tape is awesome. Well till we ran out. Then we called for its "lesser cousin"
Aka masking tape. We were so proud of the rocket the guys ran around the hall parading.
We finished so fast, Hansel, Cari and I were on stage playing Tic Tac Toe on the whiteboard;
Whoever saw it were pretty amazed. We played 3x3, 5x5, 7x7 and later decided 9x9's the best.
9x9 grid, connect 5. I'm winning 6-2 ok. Got to watch the yr3s dancing Nobody in a skit;
Which was... Hillarious. Surprised the guys were in the front. We were hiding behind the board;
Giggling away. Thankfully me no dancing. (GOODJOB G6ers!)
The end product of the Float was AWESOME. Settled on the name Pega-Shoe, with hyphen;
In case someone reads it as Peg As Hoe. Dinner, then the campfire, in the hall. Yes, wet weather.
Was particulary enthu :D But grew bored when the yr1s were on stage. They took so long;
Didnt hv enough time for yr3s... House Master/Mistresses came in that time;
Ms Kong (Nobel) was... dressed well. Really suited the whole tribal idea XD
The Floats were pretty good too, Fleming had a MerMan and a huge blue ship;
Nobel had CO2 breathing green dragon (CO2 from the dry ice in its mouth)
Fibo had a red sleigh being pulled up ppl, and it really looked Satanic, which is... preferably avoided.
So then, Faraday and our awesome shoe. With wings. And a rocket that has light. HA!

So Popobawa's scared of dancing. Must say the plot's good, and the SC put in effort.

Sigh. Today there was supposed to be shouting people running around, who didnt appear.
Wanted to give them sweets. (Rock candy from Sticky! Ha!) Only English and Chem today.
Past 3 days I had at least 3 bars of Kinder Bueno each, but none today. Withdrawal symptoms.
And so, I realised my Grandmother worries a lot more about my sisters and I than my parents.
Which is well, worrying. Disrupts the beautiful "Mind Your Own Business" balance in my family.
And she looks at me while talking to me. Ok fine I know this is supposed to be polite but;
I find it disturbing. I couldnt hold eye contact with her while talking, hope she doesnt think I'm lying.
It's a feat if I can maintain eye contact for a few seconds before looking away. With anyone.
More of a feat if I can maintain with someone I know is looking at me. Why is it polite anyway?
I think it's outright disturbing. During orientation 1 day was sitting in front of Woo Jin;
When I turned ard for some reason and instinctively did something, she was like "Eh! Dont do that la!"
I was like o.o -quickly turn back- Reckon she's the first XD Anyway, life's ok I guess.
In theory I should be able to get through the year.
If I rely on my mind and not my heart.
